ABOUT SEARCH ENGINE REALM
Hi, I’m Zohanuddin Shaikh

I’m the founder and lead writer at Search Engine Realm. I’m based in Karachi, Pakistan, and I’ve spent the last 8 years working in SEO and digital marketing.
My path into SEO has been hands-on from the start. Over the past 8 years, I’ve worked across a range of websites — from small business sites and local service providers to content-heavy blogs and e-commerce stores—handling everything from technical audits and on-page optimization to content strategy and link building. A lot of what I know came from solving problems that didn’t have a clean answer online: indexing issues that wouldn’t resolve, traffic drops with no obvious cause, content that should have ranked but didn’t. Each one of those problems forced me to dig deeper into how search actually works, and that’s the perspective I try to bring to every article on this site.
Today, I work as an independent SEO consultant and write everything you read on this blog. No team, no anonymous contributors — just one person sharing what’s actually working.

Why I Started This Blog
When I first started learning SEO, finding straightforward, practical guidance was harder than it should have been. Most of what I read fell into one of two camps: either it was too theoretical to apply, or it was outdated by the time I tried it. A lot of articles were labeled “ultimate guides” or “complete handbooks” but didn’t help me solve the actual problems I was running into on real projects.
So in 2025, I started Search Engine Realm. The idea was simple — build the resource I wished I’d had when I was figuring this out on my own. A place to share what I’ve learned, the mistakes I’ve made, and the strategies that have held up under real-world testing.
Every article here goes through one filter before I publish it: I’ve either tested it myself or implemented it on a project. If I haven’t tried something, I either won’t write about it or I’ll be clear that I’m presenting it as theory, not practice.
What This Blog Covers
These are the topics I write about regularly:
- Technical SEO — Site architecture, indexing problems, Core Web Vitals, crawl budget, canonicalization, and the technical issues that quietly hurt rankings.
- Content Strategy — Keyword research, search intent, topical authority, content planning, and how to build content that actually earns rankings.
- AI in SEO — How AI is changing search, what AI Overviews mean for traffic, generative engine optimization, and how to adapt your strategy.
- Search Operations — Local SEO, SERP features, algorithm updates, and the operational side of running SEO at scale.
- Website Security — SSL, malware prevention, common attack vectors, and security basics every site owner should know.
- Digital Marketing — Google Ads, analytics setup, conversion tracking, and how paid and organic work together.
How I Approach My Writing
Before I publish anything, I work through this process:
- Find a real problem worth solving. I look at the questions people are actually asking — in forums, on Reddit, in Google’s “People also ask” boxes, and in client conversations. If nobody needs the answer, I don’t write the article.
- Test it hands-on when possible. I try strategies on my own site or on client projects before I recommend them. When direct testing isn’t possible, I say so clearly instead of pretending otherwise.
- Verify with authoritative sources. Google Search Central, official documentation from major platforms, and peer-reviewed research. I cite my sources where it matters.
- Add real examples. Specific numbers, actual screenshots, case studies from projects I’ve worked on. No generic “Company X grew 300%” placeholders.
- Final review. I read every article end-to-end one more time before it goes live. If something feels vague or unsupported, I either fix it or cut it.
A Note on AI Tools
I want to be transparent about this: I use AI tools as part of my workflow. Specifically:
- Research assistance — Finding sources, understanding new topics quickly
- Initial drafting — Getting an outline on the page when a topic is complex
- Editing help — Catching grammar issues and tightening unclear sentences
- Brainstorming—Title options, structural alternatives
But every article gets a full human review before it goes live. That review is mine. I personally
- Add the insights that come from actual experience
- Include real examples from work I’ve done
- Verify the facts and check that the claims hold up
- Make the final decision on whether the article publishes
I don’t publish AI output as-is. If you’ve read enough AI-generated content, you know what it sounds like—generic, hedged, and filler-heavy. That’s not what I’m trying to build here. The goal is content that’s actually useful, written by someone who’s done the work.
Who This Blog Is For
This blog is written for:
- Digital marketers who want to move beyond surface-level SEO advice
- Business owners managing their own websites who need clear, jargon-free guidance
- Students and beginners still learning how search engines actually work
- Freelancers and small agencies doing client work who need a reliable reference
- Anyone curious about how SEO is evolving alongside AI and changing search behavior
You don’t need to be technical to read most of what’s here. Where technical depth is unavoidable, I try to explain it without assuming prior knowledge.
